Girls for the Future Uganda is proud to announce a significant milestone in our mission to empower young girls through education and support. This past month, we provided durable sanitary pads to the girls of Wenene Primary School, an initiative that promises to make a transformative impact on their education and well-being. The sanitary pads, designed to last for a full year, were warmly received by the students, whose excitement and gratitude were evident. This initiative is more than just providing menstrual hygiene products; it is about ensuring that no girl has to choose between her education and her health.
Menstrual hygiene remains one of the leading reasons young girls in Uganda drop out of school. Without access to sanitary products, many are forced to miss classes during their periods, falling behind academically and sometimes leaving school entirely. By addressing this challenge, Girls for the Future Uganda is helping to break this cycle of absenteeism and ensure that the girls of Wenene Primary School can attend classes consistently throughout the year.
“I am so happy to receive these pads,” said one of the girls with a bright smile. “Now I can come to school every day without worrying.” Her sentiment was echoed by many of her classmates, who expressed their joy and relief at this life-changing support
